The principle underlying their operation is very simple: forcing a fluid inside the machine that is artificially overheated. By changing state, the fluid itself increases its pressure and therefore acts on some specially prepared mechanical elements, triggering their movement.

Of course, the increase in temperature and therefore in pressure can be exploited for an infinity of other purposes, including heat exchange, the separation of different materials and much more.
