HEAT EXCHANGERS

More than 20 years of experience

Within the construction of chemical plants, heat exchangers are of particular importance.

Over Srl is also specialized in the construction of this type of machinery.

Heat exchangers are those components in which exchanges of thermal energy take place between two fluids at different temperatures.

As for the structure, during the construction of the exchangers (designed as pressure devices) the technical staff keeps in mind the official codes of mechanical calculation in order to preserve the safety of those who will then have the task of working in close contact with the plant.

AN ANCIENT PRINCIPLE FOR MODERN MACHINES

The first law of thermodynamics says: "when a body is placed in contact with another relatively colder body, a transformation takes place which leads to a state of equilibrium in which the temperatures of the two bodies are equal".

So a heat exchanger uses this principle, that is the incessant passage of heat from the hottest bodies to those with a lower temperature. A passage that theoretically ends only when a thermal equilibrium has been reached with the same amount of heat for both.

HOW HEAT EXCHANGERS WORK

Their operation is theoretically quite simple: it consists in circulating the gases under pressure within a very wide bundle of tubes collected in a particular casing and designed to offer the surrounding environment the largest possible surface. In this way the heat present in the moving gases is transmitted in very large quantities and quickly - thanks to the amplitude of the exposed surfaces - to the surrounding environment.
